In this class we'll cover the basics of designing a part using the Fusion 360 3D CAD software. We'll cover 2D sketches, how to turn those sketches into 3D objects, and how to export design for 3D printing.

Participants will design two objects during the class to put their skills into practice; a cookie cutter template and a chess piece.

The goal of the class is to cover enough detail within each topic to give participants the knowledge to design basic 3D parts from scratch.

During the class there will be scheduled breaks for participants to practice what we just learned, ask questions, and get individual help.

Before the class:

1) It is strongly advised that those wishing to participate in the class register for an Autodesk account for Personal/hobby use at the website here:

https://www.autodesk.com/products/fusion-360/personal

2) Optional - The Makerspace computers, though able to run Fusion 360 are not optimized for the program. It is suggested that if participants have a newer laptop (withing the last two years), they download fusion 360 (https://www.autodesk.com/products/fusion-360/personal) and bring it to the class.

Please contact Yuriy Drubinskiy if you need any help registering for a Fusion 360 account or installing the program.
